Upper Harbor    A walk around this in-town waterway

Turn left and walk along the boat slips to Dexter Street. The Upper Harbor is about 11 feet higher than Grand Traverse Bay. Maximum boat size is 24 feet, but size is also limited by the height of the bridge to the east. Note that the river divides here with part of it going over a spillway to the left and part going through the dam across the way. More about this feature later in the tour. Turn right at Dexter Street. Go over the bridges, and then follow the path at right down to the boardwalk to the Sitting Garden [11].
